You have just received access to your sector, welcome! Follow this guide to get started with the "Route planner" modules.
Understanding My Sector
A sector connects deliveries from pickup points with the resources you have to carry them out. In your sector, you can view the deliveries to be made, configure your resources (vehicles and agents), and review your routes. The sector has several settings, some of which may have been set by your manager.
📚 Check out our dedicated article to understand your delivery network !
Your Features
The main features are accessible from the top navigation bar:
- "Deliveries": View the deliveries to be completed and see all relevant information.
- "Fleets": Configure your resources divided into fleets.
- "Routes": View your optimized routes and their progress.
Sector Settings
From the "Sector" page, access numerous settings that allow you to tailor your operations to your activities.
General Sector Settings
General settings are set by the manager. Depending on your role, they may not be modifiable.
- Number of Vehicles: The maximum number of vehicles you can create is defined per sector. You cannot exceed this number.
- Time Zone: Reference time zone for your settings.
Associated Pickup Points
This setting is managed upstream by the manager. It defines which deliveries the sector is responsible for.
Managing Options and Skills
Options and skills allow you to assign deliveries to a vehicle or agent based on prerequisites.
From the sector page, you can manage (create, delete, or modify) options and skills. Options are found at the vehicle level, and skills are found at the agent level.
Optimization Settings
- Delivery Splitting: Allows for the delivery of items (packages/pallets) from an order in multiple trips.
- If "Use the Same Vehicle" is checked, then all parts of a delivery must be made by the same vehicle, across multiple trips.
- Do Not Split Small Deliveries: Allows you to set a minimum order size below which the order will always be delivered in a single trip.
- Note: Delivery splitting does not apply over multiple days.
- Optimization Mode:
- Reduce Total Cost: Aims to reduce the total cost of executing the route as much as possible based on the cost information provided for agents and vehicles.
- Balance Load Among Vehicles: Seeks to distribute the load across different available vehicles based on multiple criteria (number of orders, kilometers, working hours, etc.).
- Start tour:
- Latest: The route will start as late as possible while respecting the customers' time slots. This mode reduces waiting time between deliveries.
- Earliest: Starts the route to arrive at the beginning of the customer's time slot.
- Force: The route starts at the beginning of the agent's working hours, even if no customer is scheduled.
Automatic Scheduling
Ensures end-to-end route optimization without manual intervention.
- Optimization Time: Each day at the defined time, the routes for the next 5 days are optimized. If a route is already scheduled for that day, it will be re-optimized to account for new orders and any changes in settings. The routes will then be visible in the "tours" tab.
- Send to Mobile App: Each day at the defined time, the route for the current day is sent to the mobile application.
Smart Durations
- Adjusts the time spent on delivery based on your settings.
Default: Applies to all deliveries. - Based on Delivered Quantities (number of packages/pallets):
- First: Applies to the first package or pallet, including setup time for unloading.
- Following: Applies to all subsequent packages or pallets.
If I set durations for packages and pallets, and a delivery contains both, the times will be added together.
Example Calculation: If I set 10 minutes for the first package and 5 minutes for each additional package, with a default duration of 3 minutes, and I deliver 5 packages, the calculation would be: 3 (default) + 10 (1st package) + 5*4 (4 following packages) = 33 minutes.
