Zoning and optimisation

In addition to viewing sectors, zoning is part of various route optimisation strategies.

There are several ways to create zoning:

• Optimisation with manual sectoring
• Optimisation with automatic sectoring
• Global optimisation
• Mixed optimisation (sectoring and global optimisation)

Optimisation with manual sectoring

After manually creating a zoning (see the Manual zoning section) and applying the zoning in the Plan, stops are assigned to the appropriate zone.

When you click the optimisation icon for each route , the points are ordered and the route is optimised.

Optimisation with automatic sectoring

After creating an automatic zoning (see the Automatic zoning section) and applying the zoning in the Plan, stops are assigned to the appropriate zone.

Global optimisation

Global optimisation is explained in detail in the “Managing plans and routes” section.

No zoning is defined. Global optimisation is launched by clicking the “global optimisation” button . Destinations are distributed across optimised routes.

Mixed optimisation (sectoring and global optimisation)

After creating a zoning and applying it to the Plan, launch global optimisation by clicking the “global optimisation” button . Destinations are distributed across optimised routes that respect the drawn zoning.
