Vehicles are one of the two resources in a fleet. Vehicles are a prerequisite for optimizing routes.
How to add a vehicle to my fleet?
There are three ways to create a vehicle:
1. Creation Form
2. CSV Import
3. Duplication of an Existing Vehicle
Add a vehicle using the creation form:
- From a fleet, click on "add a vehicle."
- Fill in the various characteristics.
🧐 Unable to validate the creation of your vehicle?
- Ensure the name, type, and color are correctly filled out. These fields are mandatory.
- The name of your vehicle must be unique and cannot already be in use.
Add a vehicle via CSV import:
Consult the dedicated article for importing your vehicles via CSV 📚
Duplicate an existing vehicle:
- From your vehicle list, duplicate the vehicle of your choice using the button on the right of the line.
- A new vehicle is created with the name of the original vehicle + 1, 2, 3...
- All characteristics of the vehicle (type, capacities, options...) are automatically carried over.
💡 Good to know: Since an agent can only be associated to one vehicle, the agent is not included in the duplicated vehicle. You need to manually associate another agent with it for the vehicle to be considered in route optimization.
Vehicle characteristics
Each vehicle encompasses a set of characteristics that will be considered during route optimization.
Profile
- Name*: Vehicle name.
- Type*: The type of vehicle determines the roads it can take. For example, a bicycle will not have routes passing through highways. Available types are: light vehicle / heavy vehicle / pedestrian / scooter.
- Reference: Information allowing you to identify the vehicle in addition to the name.
- Color*: Color used to represent the vehicle on maps.
Characteristics
- Agent: For the vehicle to be used, an agent must be assigned to it.
- Maximum distance: Number of kilometers that can be covered in a day, including all tours.
- Speed adjustment: Allows adjusting the vehicle's speed according to the route calculator’s predictions to match real conditions.
- Loading time: Time spent at the depot added at the beginning of the route.
- Unloading time: Time spent at the depot added at the end of the route.
- Maximum number of tours: Allows a vehicle to perform successive tours with returns to the depot.
Capacities
Capacities express the maximum volumes that the vehicle can carry. Capacity can be expressed in several units. The total orders transported cannot exceed the vehicle’s capacity.
Costs
Vehicle costs are used to calculate the route cost. By default, the optimization seeks to reduce the total route costs.
- Daily cost: Applies if the vehicle is used, regardless of duration or distance.
- Kilometric cost: Applies based on the number of kilometers traveled by the vehicle.
- Flat rate cost: Applies even if the vehicle is not used.
Options
Options allow to assign deliveries to a vehicle based on prerequisites. You can create the necessary options as needed and apply them to your various sector vehicles.
Consumption
- Fuel type: Fuel used by the vehicle.
- Emission factors: Generated by Woop based on the fuel used.
- Consumption: Vehicle consumption in L/100km.
*Mandatory fields.
Vehicle Disabled
If the vehicle is disabled, it will not be used for routes. Only a reactivation action can make it available again.
