⚙️ How to proceed
To add a permission, go to the "Users" menu:
1️⃣ Click on "Add a permission" in the "Action" menu on the user's profile:
2️⃣ Add one or more contexts
💡 Contexts define the entity to which the user belongs and determine the data they can access. There are:
- contexts specific to "Retailers":
- Retailer: the user will only see data for this retailer
- Store: the user will only see data for this store
- Exchange Place: the user will only see data for this exchange place
- contexts specific to "Carriers":
- Carrier: the user will only see data for this carrier
- Sector: the user will only see data for this sector
- Fleet: the user will only see data for this fleet
⚠️ You can link several contexts within the same permission:
- If several "Retailer" contexts are added, the user will see data for all the relevant retailers/stores/exchange places.
- If several "Carrier" contexts are added, the user will see all the data for the relevant carriers/sectors/fleets.
- If both a "Retailer" and a "Carrier" context are added, the user will only see data that matches both the retailer AND the carrier in question.
3️⃣ Select one or more user groups:
💡 User groups define the list of features available to people with the same job profile. They are described here.
⚠️ Groups in the "Retailers" family must be linked to "Retailer" type contexts, and groups in the "Carriers" family must be linked to "Carrier" type contexts.
📌 Exception: when an organisation includes both a retailer and a carrier (for example, in the case of an internal fleet), it is possible to link a "Carrier" group with a "Retailer" context (the "Carrier" context will then be automatically inferred from the "Retailer" context).
4️⃣ Once saved, you can then edit the permission by clicking the pen 🖋️ or add another permission by repeating the same steps.
🔎 Examples
| ✅ I am "Shipping Manager" for the retailer "Woop" | |
| ✅ I am "Transportation Manager" for the carrier "National" | |
|
|
✅ I am "Shipping Manager" for the retailer "Woop" & "Transportation Manager" for the carrier "Woop Carrier" |
|
|
✅ I am "Shipping Manager" for the retailer "Woop" & "Transportation Manager" for all carriers linked to the same organisation as the retailer "Woop". |
| ❌ This setup is not correct. A "Retailer" type group cannot be linked to a "Carrier" context. |
