Depots

Depots are key locations where vehicles start or finish their journeys. They can also be used to indicate driver break locations. To access the "Depots" page, click on the "Vehicles" menu, then select "Depots" to display the list of depots.

There is always at least one depot. The maximum number of depots is 10 by default. This number can be adjusted on request to the support service.

Note
For each vehicle, you can choose not to assign any depots by selecting "None". The route will then start at the first destination and/or finish at the last destination.

Create a depot

On the "Depot" page, click the "New depot" button.

• Reference: a unique and freely chosen reference
• Name: name the depot,
• Street, Postcode/City, County/Country: enter the depot address so the tool can geocode and automatically position the address on the map. If the geocoding is incorrect, you can move the point directly on the map to the desired location,
• Geolocation icon: Clicking this icon, a cross appears when hovering over the map to specify the address or set it manually by clicking on the map,
• Geocoding quality: Information about the accuracy of the entered address,
• Map: View your depot on the map or place it manually using the geocoding icon,
• Latitude/Longitude: enter the GPS latitude and longitude coordinates of the depot,
• Colour: select the depot colour, which will be visible on the interactive map. Click the "paintbrush" icon to customise the depot colour using the colour palette.
• Icon: style and size of the icon representing the depot on the interactive map.
• Colour palette: customise your depot's colour on the map by moving the cross and/or sliders. The appearance of the palette may vary depending on your web browser.

Confirm the information entered by clicking the "Save Depot" button.

Edit a depot

On the "Depot" page, click the "Edit" button.

When editing, you can change any information already entered in the input fields.

Confirm the information entered by clicking the "Save Depot" button.

Editing a depot allows you to update all the data for an existing depot.

From a route plan, the editable depot record can be accessed from two entry points marked by the "Home" icon.

Filter the list of depots

From the Depots list, you can filter using the "Filter" field by typing the first few characters you are searching for. The filter applies to the whole list. It only displays rows containing the searched string.

Import a depot

A list of depots can be imported into the application using a correctly formatted CSV file. To access the "Import depots" page, click on the "Vehicles" menu, then select "Import depots":

Clicking opens a page to import a depot file.

1. Import templates for standard spreadsheets (Libre Office, CSV) or Excel spreadsheets (Microsoft) are available. Download and fill in the columns of this template file with your depot information. If your business software allows you to export this information, copy it into this template, keeping the column headers exactly as they are,
2. Click "Select file" to choose the modified CSV file,
3. Tick:
   Update / add: to update existing depots (depot reference unchanged) and/or add new depots to the application,
   Delete old depots: to erase and replace all old depots with those listed in the CSV file.
4. Click the "Import" button. Thanks to the information in the spreadsheet, the depot configuration is completed.

Documentation and format for importing depots

Documentation to help you correctly prepare your CSV file. The order of the columns is flexible, but the spelling of the headers must be correct, so it is important to use the downloadable .csv file from the application, as this is the reference.

Columns and usage:

reference: a unique and constant identifier allowing this item to be updated during the next import. value: [text]
name: name of the depot. value: [text]
street: building number and street/avenue name, spelling must be correct. Exclude unofficial usage details, such as place names. value: [text]
postcode: postcode of the town or city. value: [number]
city: name of the town or city. value: [text]
country: country name, spelling must be correct. value: [text]
lat: latitude of the depot (in decimal degrees). e.g. 45.91°. value: [decimal number from -90 to +90]
lng: longitude of the depot (in decimal degrees). e.g. 1.72°. value: [decimal number from -180.0 to +180.0]
colour: the colour of your depot icon, taken from web colours https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Couleur_du_Web. value: [text]
icon: name of the icon locating the depot on the map, from the official font-awesome list e.g. fa-building. value: [text]
icon size: size of the icon locating the depot on the map. default: medium. values: [small, medium, large]
geocoding quality: score indicating the confidence in converting the postal address to geographic coordinates. This is a percentage between 0 and 1. e.g. 0.70 means 70% reliability. value: [decimal number 0 to 1]
geocoding level: level of accuracy achieved when converting the postal address to geographic coordinates, expressed semantically. values: [city, intersection, street, house, point]

Delete a depot

From the "Vehicles" > "Depots" page, there are two ways to "Delete a depot":

Click the "Delete" button on the row of the depot you want to remove,
Tick the box to the left of the depot name you want to delete, then click the "Delete selection" button . By ticking several boxes, you can delete multiple depots at once.
